Circular Patterns

The human experience on planet earth is on the precipice of extinction due to unprecedented destruction of the natural world, from the financial and energy systems, the built world rests upon. Headlines and white papers talk about climate action, climate change, poverty, war, social inequity, wealth inequality, religious divides and more. I argue yes, those are all terribly destructive symptoms of the extractive human economy that fails to value natural world capital and ensure equitable distribution of social and natural wealth.

There is no question about possibility. Humanity has the knowledge and capability to both stabilize planetary boundaries and reconstruct the human experience. The question is around spiritual capacity. It is also abundantly clear approaches to date have not proven successful, for stabilizing planetary boundaries and reconstructing the human experience. We have the data, we have the science, we have the creativity, we have the intelligence and genius, we have the community, we have the spiritual capacity, we have the love, we have the vision, we have the imagination, we know there is possibility.

So then why does it feel like humans are giving up? Until recently I did not realize how brief the period was when the dinosaurs roamed and the planet heated up to 350 degrees and melted all life not deep underground. You know, like one of those billionaire underground bunkers in Hawaii?!! I argue the reason so many are giving up is our disconnectedness. Our loneliness. Our loss of community in a post-pandemic world that catapulted from that horribleness into the polycrisis. Friends still exclaim, “Exactly when do we get our roaring twenties?!” We now live in a built far-over-capacity world, where humans spend far too much of their life, in the digital world being gaslit and brainwashed to become more divisive and more insulated.

In the journey to now I’ve arrived at the conclusion that perhaps I have a few tips to share. While the world was loaded down with the weight of the pandemic, years following President Voldemort, increasing climate crisis, and more, I carried that weight plus my load, which felt far more ambulatory and terrifying. I have lost my job and my identity. Others will lose similarly as we navigate the days ahead with industries and supply chains collapsing and transforming.

We will never save humanity or save the natural world’s ability to support our life, unless we dramatically shift the paradigm in which we operate and begin creating conditions rather than siloed solutions to address symptoms. I am eager to lean in and begin creating conditions to enable the Natural World to stabilize while reconstructing a human economy in support of my great great grandchildren and beyond!

This is my website to introduce myself, share my passions and ideas for co-creating conditions of unimaginable possibility.  I am available for hire and look forward to hearing from you!

Making Wine & Mothering

I believe in holism and feel to meet each other, we need to bring our whole self and should not have to reduce our essence into categories like work, family, self care, etc.
